I was recently re-elected as the Senior Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kashmir.
I have raised the issue of Kashmir on a regular basis and heard at the AGM from Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudry, the former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, about the recent elections and human rights violations in Kashmir.
I was extremely honoured to be re-elected as Senior Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir. The long-running conflict in Jammu and Kashmir is dangerous for the peace of the region and of the wider world.
A negotiated settlement is needed to ensure peace for the people of Kashmir. It is vitally important that British MPs from all parties speak out about what’s happening in Kashmir now, to ensure that our Government is doing all it can to bring about a lasting resolution.
