Sir Keir Starmer MP, Shadow Immigration Minister will be in Oldham later this month to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with immigration with me and members of the public. This is part of an immigration listening tour the Shadow Immigration Minister and former Director of Public Prosecutions started earlier this year, and which he will go right across the UK, talking to the public, charities and trade unions about the pros and cons of migration, before drawing up policy ideas.
The event will discuss immigration, and the opportunities and challenges this brings, both locally and nationally. The meeting is open to members of the public and will take place in Oldham town centre at 3.30pm on Friday 27 May.
This a great chance for constituents from across Oldham Borough to input into the policy process and have their say. There are many differing views on immigration but it’s important that we can come together and discuss our experiences and views in an open and constructive way in order that we can harness the opportunities and address issues as well. I hope as many people as possible are able to attend – this is a genuine conversation so do come along if you can.’
If you would like to attend or require more details on the event please ring 0161 624 4248 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Full location details of the event will be provided in a confirmation email.
