Parliamentary Questions

Bedroom Tax

This week I asked the Secretary of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government about the bedroom Tax and availability of new homes in Oldham East and Saddleworth.  My full question was:

Oldham council estimates that more than 2,500 households will be affected by the bedroom tax, yet there are only 500 one-bedroom flats that families are able to move into. Knowing that, why did the Government make funding available for only 100 new affordable homes to be built last year?

You can read the Secretary of State’s response here.

Energy and Climate Change – Biofuels

In a written question to the Secrtary of State for Energy and Climate Change, I asked him to give his assessment of the effect on imports of a cap on subsidies on (a) current and (b) future imports of bioliquids.

The full response can be found on the parliamentary website here.
